Theme - In Matthew 22 Jesus is questioned by a Pharisee. He is asked what the greatest commandment is. Jesus replied, “Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.” This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself. ‘All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.” If Christ said these words then it seems fairly obvious that as followers of Christ we should strive after these things. Love is a powerful action. Note love is an action; it is not a passive word. As Christians we are called to love God and to love others. Thus that mean we must LOVE GO!
LOVE GO is Pickerington Christian Church youth ministries’ mission statement. Everything we do will revolve around these things. Our strongest desire is to teach, encourage, and challenge you to live out this mission statement. While doing this we pray God would use you to bring the message of Christ into the lives of others both in Pickerington and beyond.
Wednesday Night Youth Group - Youth Group takes place every Wednesday throughout the school year starting at 7:00 p.m. and ending at 8:30 p.m. Ping-Pong, Foosball, Air Hockey, Music and more fill the first 30 minutes of our time together. Following this we spend time worshiping God through song and the studying of His Word. Youth Group is a place to come meet friends, bring friends, and be a friend to others. Maybe you are not sure about Jesus Christ yet or maybe you have been a follower of Christ for many years, either way Wednesday nights are for you.
Summer Study and Service - Studying God’s Word is vital to our spiritual growth. We will plan to do this each Tuesday throughout the summer. We will be studying a chosen book with great detail throughout the summer. The Bible study will take place from 10 a.m. – 11 a.m. There will be a light breakfast or snack provided. Following Bible study we will go into the community and serve in some aspect. Service projects will take place from 11 A.M. to 1 P.M. We may do yard work, serve at the food pantry, work at the church, or any other variety of tasks.
